The Shine Project is our building project to see the light of Jesus Christ transform South Wichita and our whole city! Just over 2,000 years ago Jesus stepped down from heaven into the darkness of our sin-sick world. Just as light broke forth on the first day of creation, Jesus Christ has broken through the darkness of sin and has been doing so ever since. At Radiant, we’ve been seeing the Good News of Jesus Christ (his death, burial, and resurrection for the forgiveness of sin) lighting up lives with transforming truth and hope for the past 6 years.

We’ve seen God save, transform, set free, empower, convict, mobilize, and even plant churches across our nation and world. All because of Jesus and for his glory.

One thing we know about light is that it is most powerful and transformative when shone in dark places. It makes all things visible just as Christ makes all things visible. This is what has led us to hold service in a shopping mall, be passionate about foster care in our community, start churches in difficult places around the world. We love doing what God created us to do — SHINE!

And now, in Jesus name, and for God’s glory we are about to do it again. We believe God has called us to southeast Wichita, one of the darkest places in our city, and we are going to proclaim the excellencies of him who called us out of darkness into his marvelous light. One of the ways we are going to do so is by moving our church (God’s beacon of light) right into its midst. This is not the place where church consultants and networks tell you to move your church. They would say, “Go to the suburbs: the growing, thriving, safe places where there is money and less problems.” Jesus came for all people - Yes! But he especially came for the poor, the broken, the downtrodden, and the captive. He didn’t come for the healthy, but the sick!

For this reason we are purchasing a 16,000 sq. ft. church building right in the heart of southeast Wichita. A place of gospel-sharing, hope, love, and peace — a bright shining light in the midst of a very dark place.

Strategic Location for Revival — We are committed to minister to and be a part of this community engaging people with the gospel of Jesus right where they are at.

A Place of Encounter — Where the gospel is preached and people encounter the presence of Jesus. Where prayer happens and lives are transformed by God’s glory. Where God’s people can be seen worshiping and serving one another and where disciples are made.

A Launching Pad — Disciple making is about equipping the saints to do the work of Jesus. We want to be a place where people who love God and follow Jesus come to know and understand that God has created them to illuminate darkness. We want to send out missionaries to the streets, nearby businesses and neighbors, schools, and sports teams. We want to rise up missionaries, pastors, and new church planters.

A Community Center - Where resources are shared, neighbors are loved well, where many people from different ethnicities gather. A meeting place where families and children can find peace, hope, love, joy, and even fun. A refuge from the evil that surrounds them. In a place that is often dirty, not taken care of, and forgotten — we want to provide people with a place of bright shining light!

To accomplish this, and not be distracted from the mission God has called us to in disciple making, foster care, church planting, global missions, and so much more, we cannot be bogged down by debt. We are a small congregation being faithful with the gifts, talents, and resources God has given us, and by God’s grace we have already begun sacrificing and have come up with $150,000 of the $550,000 needed to purchase this building.

Here is my God-sized dream... We would love to pay off the building and more (more as in equip it with the resources needed to help us shine the light of Jesus Christ). And we would love to do it in less than 12 months. Almost every time I share this with people (pastors, bankers, non-believers, and even fellow believers) people laugh at me. I’m not sure why though — the God I serve owns everything and moves the hearts of people. He parts seas, heals the sick, cleanses the leper, walks on water, feeds 5,000 with a few fish and loaves, and even conquered sin and death by raising up from the grave… What is the reason for these miracles? To show the world that Jesus is God, that he is all powerful, and that he alone is our salvation! And I believe this miracle will point people to Jesus, reveal his power to a doubting world, and propel the life changing gospel of Christ's grace and forgiveness to all who believe.

So I am asking, “Will you join us?” You are receiving this because I know and have seen God work in your life and family, because I know you are committed to the cause of Jesus Christ, and because I know you love seeing lost and broken people get found and healed by our great Savior.

PRAY — Cry out to God with us and for us. That God prepares the way. That hearts are open to the gospel. That strongholds are broken and captives set free. That families find hope, healing, and life in Jesus Christ. Pray for people to join us in Christ's mission. Pray also that God provides for our every need and abundantly more. Tell me “If God is for us, who can be against us?”

GIVE — First seek God, ask him how much he would like you to give, then obey. Be radically and irrationally generous for God’s kingdom. Give by faith believing in God’s work, but also in his provision in your life. Sacrifice luxuries; what extra things of life could you sacrifice for a time to make an eternal difference? Let’s store up treasure in heaven.

I truly believe God can do this! Only 400 people giving $1,000 and we'll there! Would you seek God and see if he would lead you to represent 1 or even more of those people? Whatever God leads you to give I know he will use your generosity and sacrifice to advance his kingdom fuel the mission. We are better together!
