WHAT IS A BLESSING BOX?

A blessing box is a ministry that serves the community by giving easy access to goods such as non-perishable food and hygiene products and functions on a "take what you need, leave what you can" system. The box is completely stocked by donations so that the community may be blessed by the generosity of others.

Ways to get involved with the blessing box:

  • Pray for the box and for those who are receiving from the box; the power of God is what fuels the mission, so seeking God's provision and guidance is the most important thing we can do

  • Have a family serve night where you go out and buy the supplies and stock the box together

  • Have a canned and boxed food drive at your school or place of work

  • Invite your sports team, clubs, or other extracurricular groups to go out and buy supplies and stock the box together

  • When you grocery shop, seek to make it a habit to buy a few items to add to the box

  • Have a friendly competition and challenge a friend to see who can collect more goods from your neighbors, family, or other friends in a set time period

  • If you have an extra Bible or devotional, place it in the box; we desire for people to be fed spiritually as well as physically

  • Ask the people around you to get involved; ask your dentist for toothpaste or toothbrush donations, ask people to save hotel shampoos and conditioners, ask business owners for donations

  • Tell others about the box; you never know what friend or family member may benefit from having this box as a resource
